Theme

The theme in The Fault in our Stars is love will push through hardship. Both Augustus and Hazel know that they're dying, but they have gotten over it. They do not focus on it, if anything they fight it for each other. "“’I’ll fight it, I’ll fight it for you. Don’t you worry about me Hazel Grace. I’m okay. I’ll find away to hang around and annoy you for a long time.’ I was crying. But even then he was strong, holding me tight so that I could see the sinewy muscles of his arms wrapped around me as he said, ‘I’m sorry. You’ll be okay. It’ll be okay. I promise,’ and smiled his crooked smile.” (Green, 215)

  1. That is a good idea for a theme. I thought it was to never give up on something, even if something else is holding you back.

  4. I've heard about this book alittle because some of my other friends have read it. Do you think this book is worth the read? how much did you like it? do you think you could describe alittle more about the book?

    1. This book will always be one of my favorites and is 300% worth the read. My favorite thing about John Green is that he portrays life as a teen extremely realistically, and that shines through in this book. It is about the main character (who tells the story) Hazel, who is dying of a cancer that has no cure. She meets a boy who is recovered from his cancer but only has one leg because of it. They fall in love but they do not have the "chick flick" type of love story. It's so raw about what their life is like and the story line is really really good, and that's all I could tell you without spoiling it.
